Who We Are

Welcome to the Writing Center! Think of us as a support system for the NIU community—your community. Regardless of whether you're a freshman or senior, graduate student or faculty, alumnus or student-at-large, we're here to help you brainstorm, draft, revise, and perfect your work. At every stage, we work with you one-on-one.

We think of ourselves as a safe zone for every member of our community, a place for you to practice critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and writing communication without fear of judgment. We collaborate, encourage, and offer constructive critique, and our goal is ultimately to not only help you improve your current writing project but to help you become a stronger, more confident writer overall.
